CENTIVE: SME’s Product Innovation Challenge

Theme:
“Innovative Product Design for SMEs: Creative, Economical, and Sustainable”

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a vital role in Indonesia’s economy, often referred to as the backbone of national growth. Beyond driving equitable economic distribution, SMEs create job opportunities, empower local communities, and provide tangible solutions to market needs.

However, in today’s fast-paced technological era, SMEs often face barriers such as limited access to innovation, digitalization, and modern manufacturing technologies. In fact, high-value products can emerge when local potential, technology, and market-driven product design are successfully integrated. The greatest challenge lies in bridging the gap between local strengths and the dynamic needs of modern consumers.

The SME’s Product Innovation Challenge invites participants from diverse backgrounds—students, lecturers, educators, and the general public—to propose innovative product design solutions for SME-based industries. Submissions should not only highlight function and aesthetics but also incorporate entrepreneurial values such as:

  • Sustainable business models with long-term economic benefits.
  • Utilization of local resources to strengthen community independence.

  • Integration of SDG values, including environmental friendliness, inclusivity, and positive social impact.

  • Creative commercialization strategies that enable competitiveness in both national and global markets.

This competition is more than just about product design—it is about cultivating creative entrepreneurship, turning ideas into real business opportunities, and helping Indonesian SMEs become more adaptive and competitive.
